Question #100

Q: Which room did your family gather in most often?

A: I would have to say the kitchen. We ALWAYS had family dinner together. I really appreciate that my family did that. I think it made us closer as a family and formed good habits for all of us. Besides the kitchen, I would say the living room. We also watched tv together and movies and just sat together in the living room.

Question #99

Q: If you could have any animal as a pet. What kind would you choose and why?

A: Since I have had a lot of different pet's... if I could choose any pet I wanted, I would probably choose something that I can't have. An exotic pet. Of course the reality of it, I wouldn't really want it because it would be too high maintenance (I can barely keep my salt water fish tank alive) but I think having an exotic pet would be very exciting. Such as... an elephant. Ever since I rode my own elephant bareback in Thailand, I have wanted one. They are so gentle, they love people. I fell in love with my elephant. I also think having a baby tiger would be really fun. I always wanted a horse growing up... but I think I really just like riding other people's horses now and then. :)

Question #98

Q: Have I ever had a "crush" on someone? Who and do I still like him now? Describe him.

A: Ha ha ha! I would sure hope that I still don't have a crush on the guys that I did when I was a teenager. Yes, of course I have had crushes... I have had a lot of crushes since then and continue to have crushes. My first really big crush though was Dan. I mean I guess I had crushes before that. I had a boyfriend in 5th grade, but I mean.... it was just like the thing to do. I didn't really like him like my first crush. Dan was the type of crush where it consumed my thoughts and I wrote about him in my journal and I even wrote a song about him. Yes... the normal obsessive teenager kind of crush. :) Why did I have a crush on him? Because is was really cute. Tall, dark and handsome. My type... I guess it has always been my type. Super nice guy. We are still friends. He is married with kids now. It was a fun first crush though. He even went with me to my Winter formal in high school. First crush is fun. Crushes in general are fun. Do I have one right now? Not really. I would say that I still have feelings from my last relationship which still kind of continues... but I wouldn't say that I have a current crush. Sadly. Oh how dating has changed me over the years. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that innocent high school girl with a crush on a boy I knew I would never have.

Question #97

Q: Tell about your favorite pet... What kind of animal? When did you get him/her? Why do you like them?

A: I absolutely love animals so this is a hard question for me. I had a lot of pets growing up. I of course loved our family dog... but my favorite pet that was my very own was probably my iguana, Spike that I bought while I was in high school. My cousin Dave had one and I thought it was so cool that I had him go with me to pick one out for me. I handled him a lot as a baby, so he grew up to be very tame. He was so pretty and cool looking and easy to take care of and fun to have. I loved my iguana which a lot of other girls probably thought was really weird.

Question #96

Q: Have you ever been sick? What made you feel better?

A: What a stupid question. Of course I have been sick... many times. Lots of different types of illnesses. I know it will happen lots more in my life and probably worse at times. What makes me feel better? Rest. Correct medication.... just taking care of my body. Sleep, lots of water and heating healthy. That is also the same remedy I use to try and prevent getting sick. :)

Question #95

Q: How many are in your family. Do you wish you had more brothers or sisters? Why?

A: I love my family the way it is. But I think everyone is always curious.... what would it be like to be the oldest? What would it be like to be the youngest? For me... I wondered when it would be like to have a little sister instead of being the baby sister and probably what I wished for the most was an older brother. Would he be protective of me? Would I hang out with his friends? Who knows. I do know that my sisters are there for me. My little brother cars about me and that I couldn't ask for a better family. We are not perfect, but I love my family and am so thankful for them... exactly the way we all are.

Question #94

Q: What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?

A: I really wonder how I would have answered this as a teenager. Honestly... I have been so adventurous in my adult years, that I wonder what I thought adventure was when I was a teen. For sure the most adventurous thing I have ever done was backpack Costa Rica for 2 months with my sister kind of on a whim. We didn't plan anything, we didn't know where we were going to stay when we got there or what we were going to do for 2 months. It was both of our first time out of the country. My first time away from home really. Lori just knowing enough Spanish to get us by and me knowing nothing really at first. I was nervous. I cried at the airport when my mom dropped us off. But it opened a door for me. It taught me how to let go and know things would work out and it taught me what adventure is and that I LOVE it. That was the beginning of adventure for me.

Question #93

Q: Am I close to any of aunts, uncles, or cousins?

A: I would say I am. I have always been really close to my dad's side of the family because we got together so much. All my cousins were older than me, but I always knew they loved me and would do anything for me. My cousin Lisa was always very protective of me. Even to this day... we can not see each other for a while but when we do it is like we pick up right where we left off. I went to visit my cousin Travis and his family last summer and it brought us closer together. I also joined the salt water fish tank world which has brought me closer to my cousin Dave.  My aunt and uncle I see fairly often and I would say I feel equally close to both of them. On my mom's side... I didn't grow up seeing them as often... except for the family that lived in California. So I have always been close (and still am) with my Uncle Dale and Aunt Teresa and my cousin Lauren. The cousin my age. I became especially close with Renee when she lived with me for the summer. We don't keep in touch as much anymore, but we love catching up and seeing each other when we do get the chance. I feel my blog has brought me closer to my Uncle Gary and Aunt Janet and my Aunt Sharleen. I don't see any of them often, but I feel like I could talk to any of them about anything. I am getting closer to my Aunt Joanne especially now that I see her all the time since she lives in my parents back house.

As you can see... I have been pretty lucky to have so much family to be so close to. I feel blessed. I have a great family /  extended family.

Question # 92

Q: What is a challenge or trial do I really want to overcome? How am I going to do it?

A: A trial I would love to overcome is the trial of being an older single. I would love to find someone to spend my life with. However... answering as a teen and an adult... my answer would be my self confidence. I will say that it REALLY improved over the years especially in the last 5 years... but there is always room for improvement. It is something that I am constantly working on. Working on loving myself and feeling good in my own skin. Not caring what other people think. It's hard, but everyday I get better. Of course I have my set backs... but doesn't everyone? Something that helped was just taking care of myself better. Losing weight, learning how to dress cute and doing my make up and hair. When I feel cute... I am more confident and happy. It's a domino affect really. But I always struggle. Something I think I will always have to work on.
